The grand finale of the world-class Ratnakarand Shravakachar Quiz Competition organized under the auspices of Satpath Foundation, Nagpur will be held from December 22 to December 25, 2024 at Chaitanyadham, Gandhinagar (Gujarat).

The Ratnakarand Shravakachar is an important Jain text authored by Acharya Samantbhadra , a revered Jain monk and scholar. This text is a concise manual outlining the code of conduct for Jain householders (Shravakas). It is written in Sanskrit and emphasizes the ethical and spiritual practices essential for leading a life aligned with Jain principles. The text was further enriched by the commentary (Tikka) of Pandit Shree Sadasukhdasji Kasaliwal , a distinguished Jain scholar and profound spiritual thinker.

His commentary has played a pivotal role in enhancing the understanding and significance of the Ratnakarand Shravakachar. This marks the second season of the quiz competition. The inaugural season , conducted during 2021–22, focused on the in-depth study of the great Jain scripture Mokshamarg Prakashak by Jain scholar Pandit Shri Todarmal Ji . That event saw participation from over 10,000 individuals . This year, the competition has garnered registrations from over 13,000 participants , with 300 top-performing candidates being selected for the finale.

This was announced by the esteemed Pandit Shri Vipin Ji . Pandit Shri Vipin Ji elaborated , “Participants from across India and 13 other countries , including the USA, UK, Australia, Dubai, Singapore, and Africa , have taken part in this competition. These participants have extensively studied significant ancient texts and actively engaged in the quiz rounds. The winners of the grand finale will be honored with gold medals, silver medals, and various other awards.”

The event at Chaitanyadham, scheduled from December 22 – 25,2024 , will follow a quiz format similar to the popular television show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). In addition to the quiz, attendees will have the opportunity to partake in worship, religious rituals, devotional evenings, discourses, and seminars. The event will also feature cultural activities aimed at spreading religious knowledge to a broader audience. Devotees from across India and abroad are expected to gather in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar for this grand event.

Leading Jain scholars from India will also convene at Chaitanyadham to deliver insightful talks on complex topics from Jain scriptures. From the 13,000 booklets distributed, 6,000 response sheets were submitted online. Based on the answers to 1008 questions, 300 candidates with the most accurate responses and minimal errors were shortlisted for the finale. Ratnakarand Shravakachar holds great significance in Jainism as it provides a structured framework for householders to lead a virtuous life while pursuing liberation (moksha). It serves as a fundamental text for understanding Jain ethics and spirituality.
