Girls hockey team missed tournament for lack of logistic support in Australia
Recently, an incident of Indian school girls being deprived off logistic support by Indian diplomatic mission in Australia has come up.
A hockey team comprising of Indian girls from Delhi was in Adelaide for hockey competition.
Hockey participant girl Lalita, who is from Delhi and Hockey Coach Pradeep Kumar were found complainting that on two successive days they missed to participate in Hockey tournament with their counter part in Australia due to lack of logistics facilities by Indian diplomatic mission in Australia.
Lalita and other participant girls started crying as they could get vehicle on time to reach the tournament site on time. They were not allowed to play hockey with Australian as they got delayed. On second day, on last moment they were told to travel by metro train without anybody’s guidance. They were provided basic help and food by Indian mission in Adelaide.
Participant girls also told that they come from poor family and cannot afford big expense on such tournament and have to return with empty hands without taking part in the tournament due to lack of coordination and arrangements by Indian authorities abroad.
However, Consul General of India in Sydney has clarified that neither we are responsible for the event nor for the logistic support.
