Today being Anant Chaudash which marks end of Ganesh Chaturthi festival and citizens would bid grand farewell to Lord Ganesh amid pomp and festivities. Civic authorities have geared up for the mega event and have earmarked zones for immersion to prevent any untoward incident from taking place. In wake of Ganesh Idol immersion and traffic due to immersion ceremony at Sabarmati River, city police have closed 3 road stretches. According to the notification, vehicular traffic apart from trucks carrying idols would be stopped from Geeta Mandir to Paldi, Geeta Mandir to Kalupur railway station and Kalupur railway station to Town Hall from 2 pm owards .Alternative routes have been earmarked for the commuters, said traffic police officials.
