Today former Gujarat Governor and senior Congress leader Kamla Beniwal, 97 breathed her last at the Fortis Hospital in Jaipur. She was hospitalised after her health suddenly deteriorated. Her cremation will be in Jaipur on May 16. She was appointed as Governor of Gujarat on 27 November 2009 where she served for more than 4 years. On 6 July 2014, she was transferred to as Governor of Mizoram.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi sent a condolence message through a post on twitter handle.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also paid tribute to madam.
Senior Congress leaders in Rajasthan, including Ashok Gehlot, Govind Singh Dotasra, and Sachin Pilot, have expressed grief over demise of Beniwalji.
