Food grain distribution at Rationing shop from tomorrow in Gujarat

Today in Gandhinagar, Ashvini Kumar office of Gujarat Government held a press conference and briefed about on food stock and civil supplies in nationwide  lockdown situation due to Coronavirus pandemic.

From tomorrow 1st April distribution of staple food grain including wheat, rice, dal, sugar and salt would start at 70, 000 Rationing shops in the state. There are 3.25 crore people from 66 lakh families under Antyodaya Anna Yojana and PHH Priority HouseHold scheme will firstly be benefited of food grain distribution by state government.

For smooth distribution of food grain in rural area, government has advised to make a small committee of 4 persons including local teacher, talati or gram sevak, javan and local social worker by adopting norms of social distancing.

In Urban area, there will a committee formed of 3 persons, who will call beneficiaries in a batch of 25 people during a particular time slot to avoid rush at a time. Tokens system will be used for hassle free food grain distribution. Rationing shops owners has a Mobile number database of Rationing card holders.

Under Anna Brahma scheme, people who donot have rationing card will also be provided a stock of food grain.

Ashivini Kumar ensured of enough food stock to last for 6 months for the state.

He said milk 45.74,000 litre, vegetables like potato,onion,tomato and fruits including apple, banana and others were available in abundance.

On 1070 state control room, 653 calls and on 1077 state control room 692 calls were received and resolved.

In all 12,59,000 food packets were distributed in the state.
