‘PK’ is creating headlines due to an incredible response from the audience and the gigantic sums of money that it is collecting from the box offices worldwide. After the much awaited PK hit the silver screen, it was a rejoicing moment for all the fans to get a glimpse of the new avatar of Aamir Khan. But the film has also been in the news due to its religious controversies and was accused of offending various faiths and religions.
The film was being flaked for the portrayal of ‘God’ in a different manner which did not go down well with many followers of the religion. And now, we hear that an FIR has been lodged against director Rajkumar Hirani, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Siddharth Roy Kapur, and actor Aamir Khan for portraying Lord ‘Shiva’ in bad light by Prashant Patel, Secretary of Hindu Legal Cell. One of the scene was shot in the famous Chandni Chowk area of Delhi. It features a man clad in the costume of the widely worshiped Hindu God- Lord Shiva. The man has been shown pulling a rickshaw carrying two women dressed in burqua. It is to be noted, that chaos started on the spot when the scene was being filmed. A mob intercepted the rickshaw puller, following which a policeman came to look into the matter. The three actors stated that they had legal permission to shoot, but they were still taken to Kotwali police station.
The film has created even more controversy with some other scenes, which people feel, have been shown to hurt Sikh sentiments! The scenes show an old Sikh man begging and indulging in dishonest behavior. Moreover, Sikhs with open hair and changing their dress to become a Hindu pundit have been shown. But the scene gathering most criticism is the one that features some hurtful dialogues that disrespect the turban. Also, they have been alleged of making comments on rituals of Hindu Dharma, and the dialogue ‘Jo darta vo hi mandir jaata hai’ has been specifically mentioned in the complaint. The FIR against the film is booked under section 153A, 295A of Indian Penal Code to prevent any communal disturbances in the country. ‘PK’ Starring Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Sushant Singh Rajput in lead roles which released on December 19.
