Today in Gandhinagar. An Urgent meeting was called by Vijay Rupani and state home minister Pradipsinh Jadeja to device policies and provisions to punish severely in rape cases. Senior state officers and DCP Gujarat were present in the meeting.
CM Rupani has urged Gujarat High Court to commit the cases in fast track courts with daily proceedings of the case. In just 2 months time chargesheet to be filed and trial of the case to be completed in case of capital punishment to the convict.
Central government to make newer provisions in IPC and CrPC sections. Special Investigating Officer to be appointed with provision of death penalty in case if victim girl is below 12 years of age. Monitoring of such cases to be done by Lady DCP and DSP. A compensation of Rs 4.50 lakhs to be given to victim girl by state government.
Two cases of rape out of which rape on 14 years old girl in Gabhoi of Sabarkantha, arrest has been made. In case of rape on 5 years old girl of Dindoli in surat, case has been filed as per FIR number 188/2018. Victim was raped by a person from her family, who has been arrested vide chargesheet number 187/2018.
Rape of victim below 18 years will be committed in Juvenile court.
