Farmers agitation called off after assurance of sufficient water in Fatehwadi canal
Today Agitation by farmers from 3 taluka on water crisis was called off.
In Ahmedabad Irrigation department officials meet farmers and assured of sufficient water supply in Fatehwadi canal for farming.
Irrigation department assured to release 250 cusec water for 10 days in the canal, if water reserves are still available water for few more days would be released.
On assurance by Irrigation officers to farmers, they took liquid and break fasting.
Already 850 cusec water has been released in the canal.
Yesterday in Gandhinagar, an emergency meeting led by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was held with state officials on solution to water for farming from various dams and reservoirs.
