Farmer Centric Gujarat Budget for 2020-21 by Nitin Patel

Today on 26th February with start of Budget Session on first day, Gujarat deputy chief minister Nitin Patel presented Gujarat Budget for the fiscal year 2020-21 in Gujarat Assembly. The session would last for 22 days and will have 25 seats.

Dy CM Nitin Patel made provision of

  • Rs 63 crores for Nirbhaya Fund under Safe City Project for Safety and Security of women, State government makes provision of Rs 111 crores to install CCTV Surveillance system at public spaces under the ‘VISHVAS’ project for safety and security of people in the state.
  • New scheme for farmers to shift to Cow Based Natural Farming announced with Rs 50 crores provision to provide a subvention of Rs 900 per month i.e. Rs 10,800 per year to about 50,000 farmers who will require to use cow dung based manure for natural farming.
  • To assist millions of animal keepers of the state, a new Mukhya Mantri Pashudan Sahay Yojana announced with Rs 200 crores provision to provide 150-kg nutritious cattle feed at 50% concessional rate for one month when their cow or buffalo give birth to a calf.
  • New Mukhya Mantri Gramya Swanirbhar Yojana with a provision of Rs 7 crores introduced with an objective to generate sustained employment for women in rural areas of the state.
  • New Mukhya Mantri Pak Sangrah Yojana introduced with a provision of Rs 300 crores to provide farmers Rs 30,000 per unit for the construction of on-farm storage structure to prevent crop-loss owing to unseasonal rain, cyclone, insect menace and other factors.
  • With a view to enable farmers to take their produce to other places to sell, Kisan Parivahan Yojana announced with a provision of Rs 30 crores under which farmers will be provided subvention of Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 for procuring light load bearing vehicle.
  • With a provision of Rs 100 crores, a new scheme introduced to provide infrastructural facilities like cow sheds, fodder godown, tube well facility, solar rooftop installation, micro irrigation, sprinkler etc as one time subvention for upgrading Panjra Pol.

On 27th February, Governor of Gujarat would address the house and allot 3 seats in the assembly. On 2nd and 3rd March discussion on supplementary demand would be held and polling be done. 4 days would be allotted for discussion on Gujarat Budget, it would be followed by delibrations on constituencywise demand and 12 seats would be allotted for that. 3 seats will be allotted for governmental work and 3 for non governmental resolutions. Matter pertaining to public grievances would be assigned higher priority and will be discussed in detail. On 31st March, last day proposal would be made.
