Yesterday in Ahmedabad in a major joint operation by the Anti Terrorist Squad of Gujarat police and the Crime Branch of Ahmedabad police in a joint operation exposed case of illegal medicine trade to the worth Rs 270 crores.
Based on the clue, the ATS and crime branch sleuths today caught a vehicle laden with suspected sleep inducing/anti-depressant pills Ephedrine from the Kanbha factory GIDC in Kathlal area near Dehgam village in Gandhinagar. Factory owner Narendra Kacha has been arrested. Mumbai based Punit also has been booked. In entire drugs racket allegedly hand of former Congress MLA Bhavsinh Rathod of Sami-Harij’s son Kishoresinh Rathod and aide Jai Mukhi who were converting Ephedrine into Methamphetamine crystals after processing which were used in producing drugs. It has also arrested two persons in this regard. Reacting on the incident Bhavsingh said my son has been trapped, he cannot be involved in such scandal. He is in Mumbai. Kishoresinh Rathod mastermind and wanted in the case is absconding.
FSL and Narcotics bureau has also been called to investigate the matter.
