When the initial treatments in case of wear and tear in Hip or Knee joints prove to be useless, then it is advisable to do replacement surgeries and it’s a very satisfactory procedure to ensue better quality of life on a long term basis. However due to many misconceptions in the mind of patients before they are willing to come to the operating table. In order to remove such fear and misconception of patients, Dr. Saurin Shah of Walk Well joint replacement centre, Sidhhi Vinayak Hospital, has embarked on an awareness campaign for last few years. Every year he organizes some events and functions to motivate such patients by educating them and also by making the patients participate in many interesting activities.
Patients from the Age group of 35 Years to 80 Years participate in these events and they play musical chair, housie, Lemon Spoon race and even dance to the tunes of GARBA to relive their childhood memories and experience a renewed energy in their lives. They also get rid of the fear and misconceptions about their replacement surgeries. Some Old people who were not able to even walk properly for last 10-11 years are now able to dance to the tunes of Garba. They are able to spread immense happiness and satisfaction to their family members as well.
Actually due to modern digitalized Knee Replacement techniques and computerized surgeries, this transformation has become a reality. These new technologies are Pain free and hardly require any patient to go under the knife. These modern technologies ensure fast recovery after operations as well.
The group of happy Patients of Siddhi Vinayak hospital, have set newer milestones by embarking on Kailash Mansarovar and Amarnath Yatra even after their Surgeries. There are many patients who have walked all the way to Pavagadh, Palitana and also to Dakor.
“This Year also we have organized a wonderful evening of celebrations of life for our patients on 21st October, Sunday at Hotel Prithvi from 6 pm onwards. We want our patients to be role models and motivate others to lead a quality life,” shared Dr. Saurin Shah.
