Election Commission’s guidelines before Gujarat Assembly Elections
Today in Gandhinagar, Election Commission announces strict guidelines for Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017 campaigning and issued necessary directives to district collectors.
Due to upcoming Assembly Elections, many VVIPs including Prime Minister, star campaigners of ruling and opponent parties will visit Gujarat including union ministers, CM and Dy CM level of VIPs many directives by EC Election Commission of India are laid down to avoid blame on EC.
Highlight of guidelines:
VIP will be able to stay in Circuit House, Atithi Gruh or Dak Bungalow for self occupancy
VIP will be able to keep 1 official vehicle
VIP will not be able to get support from any officer during visit
Unable to connect with counter part in other cities using Video Coneference including Chief Ministers
Use of Helipad to be granted to opposition, if applications are made properly
Use of School Compound to be made during electoral process, without disturbing educational activities in school
Any dispute arising out of disputable situation to be reported to sub divisional magistrate.
EC has issued directives to conduct free and fair elections.
