IHM Ahmedabad hosted and organized the Gujarat Chhattisgarh Food Festival 2024 under the Banner of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Campaign” of GOI in association with India Tourism Mumbai and IHM Raipur.
Institute of Hotel Management Ahmedabad at Gandhinagar, a pioneer institute in providing hospitality education since 1972, is also the only Central IHM in the state of Gujarat. The admission process starts around December through a national level entrance exam for all streams with no age bar, conducted by NCHMCT Noida for the 3yr Degree program awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi. The students passing out are handling prestigious multifaceted and corporate portfolios at a global level. With nearly cent percent placement, the institute is instrumental in encouraging talent both in campus and out-of-the-classroom activities like entrepreneurial and food festivals with a grandeur exposure to the world.
Dr Lavina Sinha, IPS, DCP, Cyber Crime, Gujarat Police was the Chief Guest of the event which was also graced by various dignitaries from the eminent State Government Officers, academia, esp. Schools, Hoteliers, Alumni, Entrepreneurs and Media personnel along with the students of both the IHMs – Ahmedabad and Raipur.
The Extravaganza showcased different cultural dance performances and the highlight of the event was the Chhattisgari sumptuous array of dishes – Yaya Sharbat, Aamat, BoirGuda, Fara, Chirpoti Chutney (Ants Chutney), Mahuva Pulao, Kulthi Dal, Angakar Roti, Parsa Pan, Page, Karil and Makhana Barfi dished out by Team IHM Raipur. While the Team IHM Ahmedabad dished out The Gujarati dishes – Khaman, Patra, Khichdi, Kadhi, Thepla, Bhakri, SevTameta, LasnaiyaBataki, Sambharo, Chaas and Basundi.
This Food Festival of Gujarat- Chhattisgarh on World Tourism Day, 27th September 2024 has been conceptualized to enhance interaction & promote mutual understanding between people of both states in the areas of language learning, culture, traditions & music, tourism & cuisine, sports and sharing of best practices, etc. This event is one of its kind.
