In Bilaspur, Eight women have died and over 15 were in serious condition after sterilization surgery at a camp organized by the Chhattisgarh government, the home district of state Health Minister Amar Agarwal.
On Saturday These women undergo surgeries during annual “family planning” camp, and on Monday, they reportedly started complaining of pain and fever. By late evening, eight had died. Some 80 women were operated upon during five hours, at the government-run Nemi Chand hospital in the Pendari area of Bilaspur, 110 km from Raipur, a state capital.
