Dr K Sivan is new Chairman ISRO; Sivan key person behind 104 satellites launch in a single mission
Today Dr K Sivan Rocket specialist was appointed as a Chairman of ISRO Indian Space Research Organisation for a three-year period. He will replace present ISRO Chairman AS Kiran Kumar.
Kiran Kumar’s term ends on January 14.
Dr Sivan currently is Director of VSSC Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre Trivandrum. He had expertise in development of cryogenic engines for India. A cryogenic engine uses very complex technology of liquefied gases stored at low temperature as fuel.
His expertise shone ISRO’s ability to launch 104 satellites in a single mission, and set a world record in February last year. He was the key person who worked on the technicalities of how the satellites would be placed in orbit.
