Veerappan (None Like Him Ever Existed) is an upcoming Indian biographical film written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma, based on the life of Indian bandit Veerappan, and the events leading to Operation Cocoon to capture and kill Veerappan. With this Film Director Ram Gopal Varma is making his huge come back. The maverick filmmaker returns with a vengeance with this latest big screen outing ‘Veerappan’, a film that showcases the biggest manhunt in history. Starring Sandeep Bharadwaj, Sachin J Joshi, Usha Jadhav and Lisa Ray in lead roles.
As a matter of fact, the film is the story of ‘Veerappan’ told through the point of view of the people who were involved in killing him. It is said that RGV gathered his research material based upon extensive interviews with some of Veerappan’s ex-gang members, people who used to mediate between him and the government and mainly from officers involved in operations to kill him.
The film is a biopic on Veerappan, and not a remake of Ram Gopal Varma’s Kannada super-hit Killing Veerappan. The trailer was released on 18 April 2016. The film is slated to release worldwide on May 27, 2016.
