Digital Literacy Week Observed at Calorx Public School in Ghatlodia

Ahmedabad, December 04, 2020: Standing true to the essence of the vision of Calorx Public School -Ghatlodia, Ahmedabad, the school marked the digital literacy week from 01 st December 2020 to 05 th December, 2020. With a view to nurture lifelong learners with a global outlook, the week-long programme for digital awareness included an array of activities, hands-on tasks and age-appropriate sessions which constitute the basis for future citizenship for the budding thinkers and doers at Calorx.
Even though the Covid-19 pandemic pushed people from all walks of life to their boundaries, students, parents and teachers at Calorx Public School, Ghatlodia, strived to adapt to digital learning by making digital literacy, a medium to drive resilience and inclusion.
Largely a students’ show, guided by the principal, Mrs Nirali Dagli and the school’s IT head, Ms Jigna Pathak, the programme comprised an interactive digital health and wellness session by students of class VIII and IX. Several parents participated in the session, which was underlined the importance of various aspects of digital health and wellness including cyber security and the ill-effects of digitization.
Class X students too attended an enriching session by guest resource speaker, Upendra Patel, who is the director and co-founder of Tri State Technology. The session encompassed issues pertaining to the protection of internet-connected systems, including hardware, software and data, from cyberattacks, in a computing context, social media, among others.
Students also participated in a competition on the theme of online safety and etiquettes, wherein they came up with incredible Posters, E-banners, and E-Collages. The school also circulated an online form for all stakeholders to check their digital security awareness.
Applauding the enthusiasm of students, Mrs Dagli said, “The importance of digital literacy cannot be emphasized enough and it was endearing to see how students adapted to the new normal for their curriculum and came up with a bouquet of ideas to develop and implement the
digital literacy framework and strategic plan for Digital Literacy Week at Calorx, Ghatlodia.”
