Today in Ahmedabad, on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras festival, heavy rush was seen at Jewellery shop to purchase gold and silver jewellery and articles including coins Special Diwali discounts are given to customers on Dhanteras. It marks beginning Diwali festival
On Dhanteras Hindu calendar auspicious to purchase gold or silver articles or at least one or two new utensils. It is considered that new “Dhan” or some form of precious metal is a sign of good luck. Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped in the evenings when tiny Diyas of clay are lit to drive away the shadows of evil spirits.
