Towards ensuring the safety of India’s Policy Makers, Law Makers, Diplomats and Officers, a Capsule Course on Cyber Security, Cyber Awareness and Cyber Hygiene was conducted by Rashtriya Raksha University for Lok Sabha Secretariat on 17th December 2021.
Conducted by Colonel Nidhish Bhatnagar, Director of School of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Cyber Security at Rashtriya Raksha University the capsule was attended by Members of Parliament of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha as also streamed live to all State Members of Legislative Assemblies, Embassies/ High Commissions of India and officers and families of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariat. Over 2000 locations had logged in to the expert talk.
The capsule covered aspects pertaining to proliferation of cyber, enhanced threat surface, cyber-crimes and cyber-attacks, best practices and reporting procedures. While giving out multiple examples from the routine, the capsule brought out that the cyber weak links could be from amongst the friends, families, teams or staff, thereby cyber awareness and cyber strengthening needs to be pushed down within our environment to make for a cyber safe India. In an extremely simple manner, ways to ensure cyber security were demonstrated as also actions to be taken in case of a cyber-crime or a cyber-attack explained.
An extremely well received talk, there have been multiple requests for more such capsules to enhance cyber awareness amongst law makers and policy makers as also others.
The capsule was well taken by the MPs and they had a number of suggestions, including conducting of periodic capsules and audits. The suggestions will be taken up for implementation.
