Currency Crisis continues in Gujarat; long queue of people at banks

Today on Sunday on fourth day, common man’s plan of the prime objective from early in the queue is to exchange and get new currency notes in place of banned notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 by government.

In major cities of Gujarat including, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot, rush and fuss for new notes is on.

People stand in queue at banks right from morning, wait upto one and half hours, when their turn comes required denominations are not given by banks, in-fights are there among people in long queues, handicapped and senior citizens are not spared from standing queues, bank servers are runing slower than expected, people fight and beat bank staff. Above all incidents of looting cash out of life savings are increasing. Police security is limited.

It is learnt that RBI is not in position to dispense currency notes at the required by people and created an atmosphere of chaos.
