Two 118 meter high Cooling Towers of Unit 1 and Unit 2 were demolished of Gandhinagar Thermal Power Station. The Towers were 5 decades old. The Cooling Towers were demolished today at 3:03 pm by using controlled blast technique with dynamite.
In Gandinagar ,today afternoon Cordening was done in 150 meters surrounding area by blocking the roads for public safety. People in G-1,G-2 and KH Bungalows were refrained from moving out. They remained inside their houses by locking their windows and doors. residents were told to park vehicles at distant places. They were also advised not to climb on their terrace and keep away from weak building.
These two towers were identity of Gandhinagar.
Gandhinagar Thermal Power Station is a coal-fired power station in Gujarat. It is located on the bank of Sabarmati river near Gandhinagar and operational since 1998.
