On 26th October Friday in Ahmedabad, an Idea sharing meet CONVERGENCE 2018 was organized to enhance significance of BBA education in Gujarat.
Academicians from Ahmedabad involved in Business Administration courses were invited for an exchange of ideas and to explore ways and means of raising significance of BBA course among students and the industry.
Shri John GeeVerghese of JG institute of Business Administration took a lead and initiative in making BBA course more adaptable among students and the Industry.
John GeeVerghese updated that earlier there were 110 self-financed colleges which has gone upto 187 colleges. He added that we feel that we should come forward to propel BBA course which is not picking up so well.
Talking about his future plan he looks forward to launch a parallel university with a science college with course on Information Technology, for which approval from Gujarat University has been obtained and in next 2 years University at Uvarsad would come up.
Adding further John said we want out students the best of education with young and highly professional skilled professors from India and abroad. Talking about success ratio of JG Institute is between 85 % to 100 % based on the type of course.
He talked about UGC norms on launching of a private college in Gujarat and updated on educational levels of private college visavis Grant-in-aid colleges run by government.
JG Institute of Business Administration has taken the initiative to enhance the significance of Bachelor of Business Administration curriculum and has taken the initiative to bring the Directors, Faculty members and the administrative team to a single platform.
“The maiden event was held at YMCA International Center from 5:00 PM onwards. On the occasion and to give CONVERGENCE a fruitful purpose, a symposium titled “Measures to Enhance Significance of B. B. A. Curriculum Amongst Parents and Industries” has been organized. Institutes have been invited to present ideas in form of Power point presentations and skits during the symposium. The best presentation will be awarded with “Best Presentation: Convergence 2018” award. All other presenters will be given a certificate,” informed Mr. John Geevargese, Chairman, Asia Charitable Trust.
This yearly academic event named “CONVERGENCE” signifies the act of coming closer. CONVERGENCE aims to provide a platform for all the Directors, In-charge Directors, faculty members both full-time and visiting, administrative and support staff to meet and interact with each other. A strong bond amongst this fraternity, for betterment of B. B. A. curriculum, will be established by CONVERGENCE. The chief guest of the event is Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson of Adani foundation. Dr. Prateek Kanchan, The Director of B. K. School of Professional and Management Studies has been invited as the Guest of Honour. Shree John Geevargese is also the Guest of Honour.

We should do partnerships with Industry, Professional associations and educational institution . We should reach out nationally and internationally in search of a better future. Our learners and trainers if they have to compete globally, they need to be trained or they need to work with global experts of many other disciplines
Technology is a great tool and by using DIGITAL MEDIA our students should connect to classrooms and experts across the globe for learning experiences. We should learn from all parts of the world.
We should do more faculty and students exchange programs. More collaborative research projects, Emerging programs
3rd – Promote Creativity and Innovation in Students . Innovations Labs . Industry , Academic and Students should come together. Research Projects should be developed for not only Industry but also for Society.
4th – To build a strong base for Persistent Research . Create a Channel for research to classrooms. We have to become a learning organization.
5th – Promote Interdisciplinary education . We should look at more subjects. Customize education with market demand and abilities oi Students.
By using these changes may be BBA Programs can become more thoughtful and inventive.
