Congress claims cross-voting by 11 MLAs in Presidential elections 2017
Today on 17th July, during Presidential election for 14th President of India cross voting by Congress MLAs is suspected. Vote counting started from 11 am in the morning.
19404 votes were casted in favour of NDA’s Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind, where as UPA’s Meera Kumar got 7203 votes. JDU MLA Chhotu Vasava could not caste his vote. 57 votes of Congress and 2 votes of NCP have allegedly gone to NDA candidate. BJP’s Nalin Kotadiya did note vote for Meera Kumar. Tally reveals that against 60 votes expected from Congress, 49 votes only were casted from Congress. Therefore, 11 cross votes have gone to NDA candidate.
Gujarat Congress President Bharatsinh Solanki reacting on the situation said strict action will be taken against responsible MLAs for Cross Voting.
