Common Academic Calender to synchronize admission and examination process in all Gujarat Universities
Today concept of Common Academic Calender has been proposed by Gujarat government, in an attempt to synchronize admission and examination process together in all state run Universities.
In the proposed Calender, there will 95 days of educational work in first academic term whereas 102 days of educational work in second academic term.
College students to have 7 days of Navratri vacation and 49 days of Summer vacation.
As per notification by Gujarat Education department, Common Academic Calender would be implemented for forthcoming Academic term of 2018 in all streams except Medical and Pharmacy.
A committee constituted of Vice Chancellors proposed a Common Academic Calender in which results of HSC to be declared till 15th June.
First term of 95 days commencing from 12 June 201 to 4 November 2018 including internal test/retest/weekly test,project work and grup discussion and term to be concluded by 15 October 2018.
Navratri vacation to be from 15 October 2018 to 21 October 2018.
University exams of Semester 1,3 and 5 during 22 October 2018 to 31 October 2018.
University exams of Semester 2,4 and 6 during 28 November 2018 to 7 December 2018. 14 days Diwali vacation to be from 5 Novermber 2018 to 18 November 2018.
In 102 days of second term, educational work will be carried out from 26 November 2018 to 24 April 2019 except for exam dates.
University exams of Semester 1,3 and 5 during 5 March 2019 to 14 March 2019.
University exams of Semester 2,4 and 6 during 19 March 2019 to 28 March 2019. 49 days of summer vacation to be from 24 April 2019 to 11 June 2019.
