In a recent incident of women death after sterilisations at Chhattisgarh police have arrested doctor R K Gupta, whose botched sterilisations took lives of 13 innocent women in Bilaspur . Even the other doctors who assisted in the surgery too were likely to be arrested soon. Dr Gupta denied his fault and that he was pressurised by authorities to meet targets.
Dr Gupta was awarded by health minister Amar Agarwal for conducting a record number of 50,000 surgeries in his career.
