Due unabated rain and flood in Chennai and Tamil Nadu, more than 7,000 people have been rescued so far, but many are still stranded, as per reports. Flood in Chennai has affected Flight and Train service to Chennai. Flights and Trains from Ahmedabad to Chennai have been cancelled. There was heavy water logging on railway tracks and bridges which led to cancellation of train connectivity to Chennai. From Dec 04 Navajivan Express, from Dec 05 Ahmedabad Chennai Express, from Dec 06 Bikaner Chennai express have been cancelled due to flood in Chennai.

PM Narendra Modi, has promised Rs 1000 crore relief to the flood-hit Tamil Nadu. More than 260 people have died in the floods in the state after the heaviest rainfall in a century. Railway passengers to Chennai will get full refund on cancellation of railway tickets due to flood situation.
