Today Chemists go on a day long nationwide strike over stringent laws by the government to publish all information related to medicine on e-portal while selling the medicine to patient. Even posting of qualified doctor’s prescription for purchase of medicine from pharmacist or druggist has been made mandatory.
Proposals made by AIOCD All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists to the government on resolving the issue have failed.
However, to avoid hardship to patients medicine at medical shops near hospitals will be available.
AIOCD said that to display all the information on sales of drugs is not possible, as small pharmacist do not have computers. Sometimes problems of no electricity could lead to hardship to patients.
