Ranveer Singh’s First Look Poster as Alauddin Khilji in “Padmavati”

The first look of Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati was released on Tuesday and it is nothing short of magnificent. The 32-year-old actor has been cast as Alauddin Khilji in the film and with long hair, kohl and a bare chest, Ranveer looks intense enough.

In one of the posters, Ranveer wears a scar beneath his eye which escalates the entire bait to another level.

In Padmavati, Deepika Padukone has been cast in the titular role while Shahid Kapoor plays her husband, King of Chittor MahaRawal Ratan Singh. Padmavati has been under the radar of Rajput outfits ever since it began filming in January. Sets have been vandalised and Sanjay Leela Bhansali was assaulted as well since members of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena claimed that the filmmaker was distorting facts by establishing a romantic connection between Alauddin Khilji and Rani Padmavati.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, soon after, clarified that no such dream sequence has been filmed in the first place. After the first look of Deepika was released, Shri Rajput Karni Sena said that it will oppose the screening if facts are “distorted” in the film. Padmavati, meanwhile, is scheduled to release on December 1.
