Following inhumane incident of Nari Gaurav Hanan with a lady in Khajuri village of Dhanpur taluka, Lilaben Ankolia, Chairperson of Gujarat Women’s Commission visited Dahod today. She met victim and got crucial information about the case. Apart from proactive action, he also praised the awareness campaign of the women security committee of district administration. Harshit Gosavi, Superintendent of Police Hitesh Joysar, ASP Shaifali Barwal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Dr. Rogers got information from Kanan Desai about the whole incident.
Ankolia also obtained information about the legal action taken against accused who harassed the lady. He appreciated quick action taken by police in the incident. Also made some guiding suggestions for what can be made. He also expressed readiness for cooperation from the Women’s Commission. Later, chairperson Ankolia also visited the victim. She consoled her over the incident and sought information on legal assistance available to the victim.
The Dahod district police on Tuesday arrested 11 men after lodging FIR for allegedly assaulting a 23-year-old lady in Khajuri village of Dhanpur taluka. On Wednesday after a young tribal lady was stripped and paraded by her husband and others for allegedly pursuing a relationship with another man, police said.
The video had gone viral which showed the 23-year-old victim’s husband and some other men dragging, hitting and stripping her in public in the presence of women and children, the police officer said. They also forced her to carry her husband on her shoulders and walk.
