Today in Gandhinagar, on last day of Budget Session of Gujarat Assembly, CAG Report was tabled in the Assembly. The report contained remarks on PSUs (Public Sector Units) concerning administration and losses incurred.
Losses worth Rs 1111.85 crore were incurred from 20 PSUs including Rs 541,68 cr loss from GSPC KG Basin exploration project. In other 5 projects losses of Rs 65.99 cr was mentioned in CAG Report. Due to government administration and planning related issues Rs 132,27 cr losses from 3 projects. Also, CAG highlighted error in work estimation of Gujarat State Road Development Limited, leading to which excess payment of Rs 4.76 cr was made to contractors during Jan 2011 to March 2014. Loss of Rs 16.25 cr happened due to violation of allotment conditions by a company, mines allotted in Jan 2013 were cancelled. GSPC Pipavav made Rs 307.10 cr, Gujarat State Energy Ltd made Rs 151.21 cr, GSPC made RS 134.68 cr, GSRTC made 132.50 cr and GSFC made Rs 112,76 cr losses.
In Khusboo Gujarat Ki Adv by Tourism Department of Gujarat, Rs 295.07 cr were unutilized out of allotted Rs 1229.25 cr in year 2014. Out of 14 hotels run by Tourism 4 hotels make profit whereas 10 make losses.
