Today Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora made in a press conference made an official announcement of state assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana,Bihar and Gujarat. EC announced by-elections on 64 seats in different states with an expenditure limit of Rs 28 lakhs on each candidate. EVMs are safe and would be used during state assembly elections.
Elections would be held on 21st October whereas results would be announced on 24th October.
In Gujarat, by-elections for 4 seats including Amraiwadi, Lunawada, Tharad and Kheralu. Elecetion in Radhanpur,Bayad and Worwah Hadaf would also be held with election in Jharkhand clarified Arora.
Election on seats of Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor, Dhavalsinh Zala and Bhupendrasinh Khant would not be held this time.

Date of Filing Nomination – 4th October
Scrutiny of Nomination – 5th October
Last date of withdrawal of Nomination – 7th October
Voting – 21st October
Results – 24th October
