Budget Session of Gujarat Assembly starts; FM Nitin Patel presents Budget for 2018-19
In Gandhinagar a month long Budget Session of the 14th Gujarat Legislative Assembly, the first after its election in December 2017, commenced in uproarious.
Among many other important proposals, Assembly gives nod to Road safety authority bill, Government aims to cut accident numbers by 50 %.
At 1 pm in afternoon, Gujarat Finance Minister Nitin Patel presents State Budget for financial year 2018-19 in Assembly today. Patel while talking to media said that the Budget will be conducive to the people of state.
FM Nitin Patel while briefing Budget on figures he said Budget has grown from Rs1.72 crores to Rs1.83 crores. The revenue surplus of the state has been increased to “5947 cr during 2016-17” against “ 1740 cr during the year 2015-2016”. The same has been used for incurring developmental capital expenditure by the state.
FM held a meeting with the officials in the morning prior the start of Assembly Session.
