Salman Khan’s statement has been recorded at Jodhpur court today in regard to the 18-year-old Arms Act case and the next hearing will take place on April 4. This case was registered after the weapons, allegedly used by the 50-year-old actor in a poaching case at Kankani village where he had allegedly hunted down two black bucks on October 1 and 2, 1998, had their licences expired. While a case against him for poaching a blackbuck near Jodhpur’s Kankani is still underway, the forest department filed a separate case under the Arms Act. After Salman recorded his statement in the Arms Act case, his lawyer revealed that the superstar claimed in the court that “he was falsely implicated.”
On March 3, the court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Jodhpur district had set March 10 as the date for recording the statement in regard to the incident that took place while shooting for Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain.’ In a major relief to the actor, the Jodhpur court had last year accepted his plea to produce four witnesses in the case. The Rajasthan High Court had ordered for the submission of files related to the sanction procedure for prosecution by district collector to the court. Khan had moved a petition in the High Court seeking permission to make the documents pertaining to the prosecution sanction by the then district magistrate available to him.
