Hours later Gujarat BJP MLA Ketan Inamdar ‘resigned’ in an email sent to Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary early on yesterday morning, he withdrew his decision after meeting BJP Gujarat President C R Patil in Gandhinagar. MLA Inamdar said he expressed himself to Patil fully and was content with the assurance given by the party to resolve the issues in his last term as MLA, declaring that he is out of the race for the 2027 Assembly polls.
Talking to media post meeting with Patil, Inamdar said, “At a time when PM Narendra Modi is going to contest the Lok Sabha elections for a third term, in the interest of the party and assured by their response to my grievances, I have decided to withdraw my resignation… I spoke my heart out…They have taken my representation seriously. I have put forth both the issues that were bothering me – the respect that old party leaders should get in the party and also the issue of the Mahi Weir construction, which was to begin before the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) but will be delayed now.
