BJP MLA Balwantsinh Rajput moved High Court over cancelling of two votes by EC in RS election
Today BJP Bharatiya Janta Party MLA Balwantsinh Rajput has moved High Court over cancelling of two votes by EC Election Commission of India of Congress MLAs Bholabhai Gohil and Raghavji Patel during Rajya Sabha election for 3 seats from Gujarat.
Gujarat High Court is likely to give verdict on the petition by Balwantsinh today. High Court has sought reply from EC by 21st September.

Today results of election of Rajya Sabha were to be announced by evening after 5 pm for 3 seats from Gujarat.
Shaktisinh Gohil of Gujarat Congress raised the issue to cancel 2 votes of their MLAs.
Congress delegation led by P Chidambaram, Anand Sharma, Randeep S Surjewala met Election Commission and requested them to cancel 2 votes of Bholabhai Gohil and Raghavji Patel.
Also, BJP Bharatiya Janta Party’s delegation led by Ravi Shanker Prasad, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitaraman, Dharmendra Pradhan and Abbas Naqvi met EC told to do justice in the matter.
From Congress Ahmed Patel and from BJP Amit Shah, Smriti Irani and Balvantsinh Rajput. Total 176 MLAs casted their votes using Ballot Papers.

As far as 2 NCP votes are concerned, 1 vote has fallen to Congress and other to BJP. Chhotu Vasava says he has casted his vote in favour of Congress.
After 5 pm vote counting was to start but Gujarat Congress came to know that 2 of their MLAs Bhalbhai Gohil and Raghavji Patel opened their vote publicly and then casted their votes.
Congress demanded to demanded to countermand 2 votes of Congress MLAs.
Gujarat Congress has written to Presiding Officer to check on Video Recording quoting similar situations happened in Haryana and Rajasthan states in election.
