Biparjoy Cyclone effect on Gujarat coast : Strong winds with lightning strikes

As Cyclone Biparjoy hits Gujarat coast, it is having a major impact. Due to the effect of Cyclone Biparjoy, fast winds have started blowing and raining in the coastal areas. Rain has been reported in 61 talukas across state in the last 24 hours. Cyclone Biparjoy, active in the Arabian Sea, has approached Gujarat. Due to which its effect has started to be felt. Due to the cyclone, there has been a change in the weather in some areas of Gujarat since yesterday afternoon, rains have started lashing in some parts of the state along with strong winds along with lightning strikes.

State administration has sounded alert and setup a control room.


As far as rescue operation has been concerned, Indian Coast Guard ALH Mk-III (CG 858) has airlifted total of 11 personnel from jack up rig ‘Key Singapore operating off Dwarka to Okha in Gujarat. Sorties being progressed for evacuation off all persons.
