Ahmedabad: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said on Thursday that the state is committed to achieving success in the field of quality adoption. He was speaking at the inaugural of Gunvatta Sankalp Gujarat, an initiative of the Quality Council of India (QCI) aimed at focusing on critical quality interventions across priority sectors in Gujarat. Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp aims to augment and support the state government’s initiatives through quality interventions, establish a foundation of quality at the grassroots level, and build a holistic quality ecosystem for Viksit Gujarat in the Amrit Kaal. The initiative aims to redefine quality standards in key areas such as education & skilling, healthcare, e-commerce, industries and MSMEs, tourism, culture & sports, and social development in the state. Addressing the inaugural session of Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp, the Gujarat Chief Minister emphasised that quality was a largely ignored term in India until a few years ago, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving towards quality. “Be it Make in India, Digital India or Atmanirbhar Bharat, every movement Prime Minister Narendra Modi has undertaken has seen significant progress. We are focused on quality and I am confident that we will also achieve 100% success in making it the cornerstone of development,” he said.
He further said that Gujarat has accelerated progress in building Viksit Gujarat under the 5G model, which stands for Garvu Gujarat, Gunvantu Gujarat, Green Gujarat, Global Gujarat, and Gatishil Gujarat. “Let us add one more G, which stands for Gunvatta (quality) in this 5G Gujarat model,” he added. In his address, QCI Chairperson Jaxay Shah noted that the historic Salt March began from Ahmedabad, and with the Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp, the Quality March is also beginning from the city. “Ahmedabad is my city, the place where I first learned the fundamentals of quality. Today, as the Chairman of the Quality Council of India, I am filled with immense pride and emotion to host Gujarat Gunvatta Sankalp in Ahmedabad. Aligned with our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji’s vision of enhancing the quality of life for every Indian, this Sankalp aims to embed the principles of quality in every facet of life, livelihood, and industry in Gujarat.
