Today in Ahmedabad, a press meet by Gujarat Pradesh Pramukh Bharatsinh Solanki was called at GPCC Office in Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan.

As a part of year – long programmes to celebrate 125th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna architect of Indian Constitution, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar by All India Congress Committee, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee has planned to celebrate 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar and organise a Yatra through out the state.
It is aimed to commemorate Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, architect of the one of the best constitutions of the world, which gives all the citizens of the country human rights without any discrimination of religion, cast, creed or region. Dr. Baba Saheb’s birth his struggle of childhood, his contribution to give constitutional rights to dalits of the country will be highlighted through this yatra. Elaborating on the details of this yatra, PCC President Shri Bharatsinh Solanki said that, through this yatra, GPCC will pay tribute to Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
This yatra, named ‘Bhim Jyot Yatra’ will cover 4000 k.m., spread over 26 districts, 8 Municipal corporations and it will span over 16 days and 13 nights. ‘Bhim Jyot Yatra’ will be divided in zones, viz Saurashtra, Kutch-North Zone and South-Central Zone. Bhim Jyot Yatra will start on 8-06-2015 at 10-00 am from Surendranagar. It will cover 12 districts, 4 Municipal corporation during 7 days and six nights. Kutch-North Zone Yatra will start from Bhuj on 10-06-2015 at 10-00 am. It will cover 6 Districts, one municipal corporation, during 5 days and 4 nights.
South – Central Zone Yatra will start from Valsad on 11-06-2015 at 10-00 am. It will cover 8 district 2 municipal corporations during 4 days and 3 nights.
Bhim Jyot Yatra will culminate at Ahmedabad on 14-06-2015, at 5-00 pm at Vir Savarkar Head, Memco cross road, Naroda, Ahmedabad.
PCC President Shri Bharatsinh Solanki said that elaborate arrangements are made for ‘Bhim Jyot Yatra’. The yatra will be welcomed at all the main places throughout the route. Meeting are planned at various places during the yatra. Also, dalit litterateurs, poets writers and eminent personalities will be facilitated at various places.
Celebrities and senior citizens of various communities will be facilitated at various places throughout the yatra Seminars, to enlighten youth about the Indian constitution and Dr. Ambedkar will also be organised at various places.
