Today BCCI Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced two new IPL franchises (IPL 2022 News Team Auction). In the bidding process, bids were placed for the Ahmedabad and Lucknow teams.
BCCI had expected the two new IPL franchises to go from Rs 7,000 crores to Rs 10,000 crores after the bidding process began in Dubai on Monday. However, the highest bid was for Lucknow Team in IPL followed by Ahmedabad team in IPL. Therefore now Ahmedabad team will play in IPL 2022. Ahmedabad based team CVC Capital has won IPL Team Bid bought the Ahmedabad team bid for crores of rupees. The deal will fetch an estimated Rs 12,690 crores to BCCI. Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Cuttack, Guwahati, Dharamsala and Indore were named for the new IPL team.
However, the strongest contender was Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad IPL won the bid for team while RPSG RP Sanjeev Goenka Group won the Lucknow bid for Rs 7,090 crores.
Contest will be held in Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera
IPL 2022 matches will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, the largest cricket stadium in the world in Ahmedabad city. Now the teams from Ahmedabad will compete with other teams and people will get to enjoy thrill of IPL 2022. The bidder CVC Capital is said to be, a foreign company.
