Bangalore rape on six-yeared old girl: Protesters demand quick action

Today, a rape on six yeared old girl of Bangalore has staged large scale protests against police. Victim girl was a student of Vibgyor High School. A protest march started from school to HAL police station by parents of the girl, which was supported by many others gave way to anger of people over this rape and inaction of police. They want quick arrest of guilty in the case. Police Commissioner said that immediately on receiving complaint officers are on the job round the clock. He also admitted that case will have to be dealt with carefully and senitively as it involves a minor girl. He said instead of talking to large numbe of people, it is preferable, is small group approach him on this case. 20 officials was involved in the probe, informed Police Commissioner. In further trouble to Vibgyor High School, Karnataka government has written to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations Board to derecognise it as it comes under its ambit as an ICSE school.The alleged rape by “unknown persons” which reportedly occurred on July 2 but came to light on July 15, has triggered severe protests from outraged parents, who suspect the involvement of staffers, as also from civil society.
