After chasing England’s first innings score of 205 runs, today India finished at 24 /1 on Day 1 of the fourth and final Test match, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara are at the crease. They will give good opening scoretomorrow. India lost an early wicket, with James Anderson taking the wicket of Shubman Gill in the very first over.
England won the toss on Day 1 and elected to bat. England had a poor start, losing quick wickets. Despite a half-century from Ben Stokes, the visitors were all out for 205. Magic of Axar Patel once again got him four wickets. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets. Also, Mohammed Siraj took two wickets and Washington Sundar got the key wicket of Stokes. India will be hoping to build a steady partnership on Day 2 and possibly gain a strong lead. Meanwhile, England will be aiming for quick wickets.
