Today it is a very auspiciopus day with three big festivals coming on this day of Dev Deepavli, Setrunjay Mahatirth and Guru Nanak Jayanti.
On this day special prayers are offered at Dakor, Dwarka, Shamlaji, Somanth and Ambaji. Jain saints also offer prayers in Derasar.
The Dev Deepavali “the Diwali of the Gods” or “Festival of Lights of the Gods” is the festival of Kartik Poornima celebrated in India. It falls on the full moon of the Hindu month of Kartika (November – December) and takes place fifteen days after Diwali.
Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated on the birth of the first Guru Nanak. This is one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhism Apart from Sikhs, Hindus and other followers of Guru Nanak’s philosophy also celebrate this festival.
Shatrunjaya ,”place of victory against inner enemies” originally Pundarikgiri), also spelt Shetrunjaya are hills located by the city of Palitana, in Gujarat. They are situated on the banks of the Shetrunji River at an elevation 164 feet above sea level.
