Today Ashwin Kotwal Congress MLA from North Gujarat resigned from Congress party and joined BJP Bharatiya Janta Party . Ashwin Kotwal, who joined BJP said that he was impressed by development work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his work towards tribal community. In year 2007, when he was elected MLA from Congress for the first time, he met Modi in Gandhinagar, since then he is impressed with Modi. Kotwal added that he is a Modi fan.
Kotwal formally joined BJP in presence of Gujarat BJP President CR Patil and other partymen.
