Amidst many debates over whether the 144th Rath yatra of Lord Jagannath will be held on July 13, the Jagannath Temple Trust today sought permission from Commissioner of Police Sanjay Srivastava for procession. Permission has also been sought for only 50 people to attend the procession before the rath yatra.
All preparations have been started from the temple for the rath yatra. In a conversation trustee of Jamalpur Jagannath Mandir Trust said that all preparations have been started for the rath yatra.
Today, like every year, an application has been made to the Commissioner of Police for permission to take out a rath yatra of God with elephants, trucks and other groups. A meeting will be held after the application and the rath yatra will be taken out as they decide. Permission has been sought that only 50 people will be present in the procession before the rath yatra. All ceremonies will be completed in compliance with Corona’s guideline.
