The Swastika Mukherjee-starrer is a tale of a lonely man (Anubrato) jousting with death at every point of his life. “I am happy with the news. It took two years for the film to be screened for the audiences and it got invited by the Queensland Film Festival authorities on Wednesday evening,” director Partha Sen said when contacted. “This is all the more significant after the male protagonist Ritwik Chakroborty got the Best Actor Award for the film in Madrid ImagineIndia International Film Festival,” he said. “We will be leaving soon for Australia,” he said adding the films from India will be shown between July 24 and July 26. The film is scheduled to be released here in August. The Queensland Film Festival, to showcase non-populist genre of representative Indian films in different languages, will also screen Kabir Sadanand’s “Fugly”, Malayalam film “Perariyathavar” (Names Unknown), Kannada film “Abhinetri” besides “Shukla Jee” in Hindi among others. “Anubrata Bhalo Achho” has earlier been invited to the Hanoi Festival which also showcases important independent directors’ films the world over. Besides Ritwik Chakraborty, known for his roles in “Shabdo” and “Ebar Shobor” and Sawastika Mukherjee, who essayed the role of Angoori Devi in “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy”, the film stars Sujan Neel Mukherjee, a young acclaimed stage and film actor.
