Today morning a rare celestial event, annular solar eclipse, which is popularly known as the “ring of fire” eclipse, will be visible this Sunday in India. Phases of partial eclipse to maximum eclipse could be witnessed till noon.
The Solar eclipse started in India where it is visible. An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon casts over the Sun’s center, leaving the Sun’s visible outer edges to form a “ring of fire” or annulus around the Moon.
Its the third eclipse even for this year after first two lunar eclipses took place in January and June and the last annual solar eclipse of this decade.The solar eclipse will be visible until 1:44 PM with maximum visibility of the eclipse at 11:55 IST.
India will witness a partial solar eclipse, some places in Assam, Jammu, Delhi, Haryana, Uttarkhand, Maharashtra and Rajasthan are expected to witness the annular phenomenon.

The annular phase of this rare solstice solar eclipse is visible from parts of Africa and Asia, including the Central African Republic,Congo, Ethiopia, southern Pakistan, northern India and China.
