AMTS Budget of Rs 535.86 crores for year 2016-17 presented

Today in Ahmedabad, budget for the year 2016-17 of Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service was presented by Transport Chairman, Chandrapraksh Dave to the Standing Committee along with Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Transport Manager briefed media on Budget figures and amendments proposed.

AMTS with a fleet of 875 buses on 167 routes facilitates to 6 lakh passengers.

For passenger facilitation and for better services following amendments were proposed in AMTS budget under Chief Minister Swarnim Yojna:

  1. Modification of 7 platforms at Lal Darwaja Bus Stop with budget of Rs 1. 50 crores.
  2. Memco depot Road asphalting and resurfacing with budget of Rs 1.00 crore.
  3. Jamalpur Scarpyard flooring  work with budget of Rs 1.50 crores.
  4. For replacement of old computers in the office with Budget of Rs 1.20 crores.
  5. For breakdown services, purchase of 5 breakdown systems and 3 Tata (Chhota Hathi) with budget 1.20 crores.
  6. Workshop No 1 crane purchase with budget of Rs 0.40 crores.
  7. Worskhop repair facility (revating machine, Tyre opener, handheld  operating hydralic press, tools etc) upgradation with Rs 1.17 crores.
  8. Use of latest communication for passenger comfort facility of WhatsApp with 7069015735, Facebook page with ‘AMDAVAD MUNICIPAL TRANSPORT SERVICE’,AMTS  twitter handle with id AMTS_AMDAVAD and setting up of toll free no 1800 233 0881.
  9. No increase in the passenger fair.
  10. More checking points on Bus Stand for improved passenger service.
  11. Emphasis on Cleanliness on Bus stops.

Revenue Budget was maintained at Rs 516.79 crores. Capital budget was increased by Rs 7.77 crores, raising it to Rs 19.07 crores from Rs 11.30 crores.

In Current year, AMTS budget of Rs 528.09 crores with amendments of Rs 7.70 crores was proposed to be Rs 535.86 crores.
