Today in Mumbai at PVR Cinema, trailer of Wazir movie was launched by starcast led by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, costar Farhan Akhatr, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, director Bejoy Nambiari and editor Raju Hirani. Trailer of the movie was shown to media.
Cast attended questions from media. Trailer of the movie was ran thrice. Media applauded the trailer and posed questions.
Amitabh Bachchan was congratulated by media on his 42nd marriage aniversary. Even, costars on knowing this congratulated Big B. Amitabh said that his “Laddu of Marriage” was sweet and the blue-green colored Shawl which he was wearing on White Salwar-Kurta was given by Jayaji from Kolkata during shooting of Piku. He was chatting through Facebook with Jayaji before coming to promotion. Jayaji was abroad. On Maggi row, he said that as yet he has not received any notice, but my lawyers will take care and will fully cooperate with land of law. I have stopped endorsing the product 2 years back, Amitabh added. Over, one more controversy Amitabh said that CBI people had come to me 2 years back in one case and were asking me about my whereabout which I honestly replied whatever I remebered.
Farhan admired sharing screen space with Amitji, the one and only legend himself. Amitabh too appreciated taking down suggestions from Farhan as he has directorial attitude. Amitabh said Farhan is a wonder actor.
Director Bejoy Nambiar said that I did not have any problem working with 2 other directors.
Vidhu Chopra said we take some 4-5 years to write script and devote full time in doing justice to it, that is why our movies take 4-5 years. Once we believe in the script then only we go for making movie. Firstly, we give general title and later we changed the finalise the title of movie.
Raju Hirani said I am a great fan of Amitji, so I cannot direct him it is difficult to giive direction to give Amitji, because I forget everything when I see him. I have grown seeing Amitji, so I am not directing this movie. On Sanju’s biopic he said that he has only finalised Ranbeer, rest he has not casted any character tiill now.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra chooses a sprint chase over bike chase for Farhan Akhtar in Wazir.
We have all seen Farhan Akhtar play the flying Sikh in the highly acclaimed film, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
For the same he had taken training from the man himself, Milkha Singh.
He did not know back then, that this would help him in his future project too.
The makers of his next film, Wazir, have taken advantage of this and included a chase sequence of Farhan sprinting instead of a more comfortable bike chase.
When Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Bejoy Nambiar saw him running, they realised that his run was extremely intense, so they tried the sequence in a rehearsal.
They were more than convinced that this is how it needs to be shown.
The makers and Farhan himself are quite happy with the sprint chase sequence.
Vinod confirms and adds “It’s a mind blowing sequence and has actually turned out better than we expected. It is a crisp shot and even when we saw it later on the projector we felt the adrenaline rush. There is a lot of intensity in the sequence which we are certain will hook the audiences.”
The film will showcase Farhan playing an ATS cop for the very first time.
Wazir marks the coming together of two power house performers Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan for the very first time on the silver screen.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Abhijat Joshi have written the film.
After the buzz created by the first tease, the second teaser is coming out with Farhan’s next.
Produced by Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films, Wazir is all set to release this year.
