PM Narendra Modi confidant Amit Shah has been equally rewarded with highest party President y appointing Shah as President of Bharatiya Janta Party. Shah is considered to be a very close leader to Narendra Modi ever since Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat and Shah as a Home Minister of the state. Efforts of Shah in canvassing for Modi in Uttar Pradesh by making him genaral secretary and posting him and his prime role during general elections has brought this glory to Amit Shah.
After attaining post of Home Minister in Modi ruled NDA government, it was a question to find successor in the Presidential party position. Among other names, Amit Shah name came up rapidly, which was backed by former President, Modi and by Sangh.
Home minister Rajnath Singh formally announced that he would step down as the BJP president and declare Shah as his successor.
Rajnath appreciated Amit Shah’s “management skills” and credited him with the BJP’s success in Lok Sabha election in Uttar Pradesh.
