Today Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in afternoon at Ahmedabad city.
Minister Shah was inspecting DRDO’s makeshift 900 bed Dhanvantari Covid-19 hospital at GMDC ground in Ahmedabad. It is a 900 bed Covid hospital with oxygen and modern facility.
Union minister was accompanied by Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani, deputy chief minister Nitin Patel and other state officials.
With rising Covid-19 cases in Gujarat there was an urgent need to setup Covid-19 hospital with 1000 beds in Ahmedabad. The Covid-19 hospital was established on war footing.
Union Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah today while speaking to media persons said that a 1200 bed another hospital in Gujarat has been planned for covid patients at Gandhinagar based helipad ground. This hospital will have 600 ICU beds. It will come up in cooperation with Tata Trust. It will be set up by DRDO, while the whole expense will be born by Tata Trust. Shah said the city will also have Isolation centres for which Karnavati club, ADC, GSC, Rajpath Club, Umiya Pariwar have given their consent. Beds and other expenses will be born by organization. Primary treatment, medicines, meal etc expenses will be born by Gujarat government. This initiative will be further taken up across Gujarat. Shah said, a toll free number will also be started. Over 50 doctors will be present. The doctors who are MD, who are lung experts, but aged will sit on this toll free number. Telephonic guidance will be offered to home-isolated persons. This service will start within two days. Similarly a medical consultancy will also launched through call centre mode. Expert doctor will offer home isolated persons through phone call. Shah said Gujarat has the highest number of oxygen beds. In addition to this the number of ICU beds is also high. Shah was on visit to a 900-bed Dhanvantari covid hospital which has been created at Gujarat University Convention and Exhibition Centre. Shah is union Home minister and also local Lok Sabha representative. After his visit, Shah held a meeting with Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and senior officials.
